The problem of never-ending controversy and misinformation about climate change, as well as the worryingly robust or thoughtless policies suggested to combat it, have led me to take an interest in the future of free expression. My aim is to focus on novel constraints to free expression (notably the problems unique to a world where social media houses so much public discourse), thereby thinking about how to best nurture that freedom in the face of new challenges, rather than reproducing the hardened battle lines from older debates. I take that approach in a recent paper.
